Similkameen Trails Society

The mission of the Similkameen Trails Society is to promote and enhance the trails of the Similkameen; for the safety, health, welfare, and enjoyment of neighborhoods and visitors to the Valley.

Our quest is to establish a chain of trails linking all communities through the valley from Manning Park to the U.S. border and across to Osoyoos. Creating a circuit to the successful RDOS trails bringing new leisure opportunities to the Similkameen Valley.

We rededicate ancient and traditional trails that follow the river providing a historical reference that connects First Nations with New Canadians in mutual cooperation.

We achieve this by encouraging neighborhoods to set up safe walking and biking circuits that connect their community; then we can link communities with trails.

The Keremeos Village Promenade has a walking and wheelchair circuit over the old rail bed and the Dyke; with proposed links to the Red bridge and to Kobau Park in Cawston. The promenade volunteers are fundraising through provincial grants, so as to complete the project. This project is a joint venture between the village and the Society.
